Neo Inferno
The barren landscape of the frozen Old Hell was colonized by a people whose flesh and artifacts are composed of a bizarre version of matter which disturbs any outsider to look at. They appear in a certain respect the right shape, but they are rendered with an impossible amount of detail, drawing the viewer in to smaller and smaller aspects of anything, whether cracks or hairs or light refractions, no matter how smooth or simple, and have a simultaneous feeling of low color saturation but clear color contrast from the impossible amounts of shading and texture the viewer absorbs as they gaze upon it. The people are always thoroughly covered by normal materials, and seem humanoid. Non-fleshy artifacts are significantly less nauseating for the effect in question, but they're rarely seen. Someone had a knife in Episode 1 as poker barter, and xXxRiverxofxLyexXx uses their technology for cell phone internals. The Trust in Hell is run by Neo Inferno citizens.
