Clammy Desert
Threesong lies about halfway between Curst, the gate-town of Carceri, and the ruins of Sigil. Within about a thousand miles is a very mild desert region with landscapes similar to the Mohave, but perpetually cool and overcast, with more clay-like materials than rock or soil. Plants, natural resources, and civilization are sparse here overall, but its position as a relatively safe and traversable crossroads turned its otherwise small landmark and oasis-based towns into MoTrak and its affiliate's center for operations of all kinds involving long-distance travel through the southeastern Great Wheel. There are dozens of big towns hundreds of miles apart, some functioning as independent states and some functioning as MoTrak Affiliate corporate towns or colonies of other powers. Some are hostile to the railway, but the current system of the region is millennia old and these conflicts are not trending news.
Several directions beyond the edge of the noob zone desert are immediately deadly infernal hellscapes. Most of it, really. If your characters arrived long-distance by train, there are two primary routes they're likely to have taken. To the west-northwest is the direct route to Mechanus, the home of MoTrak itself and the essential artery between there and the excavations in the Abyss. To the north-northeast is the route to Ysgard.
